Sale Basics

What is a children’s seasonal consignment sale?

Very simply, a mom’s gold mine. Our sales are held twice a year, once in the spring and once in the fall. The sales last for just one-week and offer thousands of new and gently-used children’s items at a fraction of retail.

What is the difference between a consignment sale and a garage sale?

This sale is definitely NOT a garage sale.  This sale is NOT a thrift sale.  We are very careful to inspect every item that arrives at our sale to ensure that everything is clean, without stains, meets current styles and is in working order.  All items are organized so that it is easy to shop and find the sizes and types of items you are looking for.  There will be no digging in boxes and no tables of messy clothing. Clothing is all hung up and organized by size. Toys are grouped with like items and furniture will be assembled and paired with their matching items.

Where do the items come from?

The items we sell come from hundreds of families who sign up to consign and actually earn money for the items of theirs that sell.  Anyone is welcome to become a consignor and anyone is welcome to shop the sale.

Is there a fee to shop at the sale?

No, there is not a fee. Come early and expect to have fun finding all the deals.

What kind of payments do you accept?

We accept cash, Visa, MasterCard, Discover & American Express. NO CHECKS.

How do I carry all my great finds while I am shopping?

We suggest you bring a large tote bag or even a laundry basket. We do NOT have shopping carts nor will we allow you to create a ‘pile’. We WILL place “HOLD” tags on any larger items.

How often will you have these sales?

Our children’s seasonal consignment sale will be held twice a year, once in the fall and once in the spring. In addition, our company, 2nd Go Round, LLC intends to host a holiday decoration and display sale, Holidays-Go-Round; a furniture and household items sale, Homegoods-Go-Round; a bridal, formal and accessories sale, Weddings-Go-Round; and a ladies' clothing and accessory sale, Styles-Go-Round. Contact 2nd Go Round, LLC for more information and please pass along your sale ideas!

Consignor Details

Why should I want to participate as a consignor?

A children’s consignment sale is a fantastic opportunity for you to clean out your closets of the clothes and toys your children have outgrown and earn some extra money. You do not have to be present during the sale to sell your items. Kids-Go-Round handles everything from the venue, advertising, as well as selling your items. We market our sale to over 6,000 households in St. Johns County so we have a wide range of items and we ensure a large turnout of Shoppers.

What does being a Consignor involve?

As a Consignor, your responsibility will be to organize, price and tag your items, then deliver them during your designated drop-off time the week of the sale. That’s it. Kids-Go-Round does the rest! Consignors do NOT have to be present the day of the sale or stay with their items.

What can I consign?

Kids-Go-Round accepts maternity, baby and children’s clothes, toys, furniture, books and more. For a complete list of items, please refer to our Accepted Items.

Is there a limit on the number of items I can consign?

No, you can enter as many items as you wish. The more you consign, the more you earn!

How do I register to be a consignor?

Easy. CLICK HERE and follow the steps.

Is there a deadline to register as a Consignor?

Yes. You must be registered as a Consignor on or before Sunday, March 6th, 2010 at midnight.

What percentage of my sales do I earn as a Consignor?

As a Consignor, you will receive a minimum of 65% on every item sold. You can increase this percentage by referring other consignors to our sale. See our Referral Program for more information.  Also, as a Consignor, you will be invited to shop before the general public during the Consignor Presale.

How can I earn a higher percentage commission?

There are several ways to earn more than the 65% minimum payment on all sold items:

  1. You can refer other consignors to our sale. See our Referral Program for more details.
  2. You can barter with us. Please see Bartering for more information.
  3. Or, if you'd like to Volunteer, for every shift you work, you will be entered in a drawing to win 100% of all items sold. See our What You Get page for more details.

Is there a fee to consign?

There is a $5.00 non-refundable consignor fee. This fee will be deducted from your check. If you do not sell at least $5.00 in merchandise, your fee will be waived.

Do you discount consigned items during the sale?

On our last day we will have a 1/2 price sale on the remaining items. Consignors themselves determine which of their items will sell for 1/2 price. See How to Tag for more information.

What happens to the items that don’t sell?

Unsold items must be picked up during the scheduled pick up hours (CLICK HERE for a complete sale schedule) or you can choose to donate them to our Charity.

Will I have the same consignor number for all your sales?

Yes. Once you register as a consignor with 2nd-Go-Round, you may use the same consignor number at ALL of our seasonal consignment sales.

How do I get paid?

Upon dropping off your items, you must bring a self addressed, stamped envelope. Checks will be mailed out within 2 weeks of the sale event.

Preparing Items for the Sale

How do I price my items?

We suggest you price your items roughly 20-40% of their original retail price, depending on their condition. For designer and name-brand items you can price closer to 40% of the original retail price and any new items with tags still on them can be priced for as much as 50-60% of the original price. See Pricing Guideline for more information.

How do I tag my clothing?

We have a very simple bar-coded system that allows you to electronically enter all your items and printout your tags. See How to Tag for more information.

Can I print my own tags?

YES!! You will NOT have to pick up your tags from Kids-Go-Round or go to a special store and have them printed. We do require, however, that you print your tags on white cardstock (60 lb. or heavier). Please note, each item needs to have a unique item number and thus photocopying a sheet of tags is not acceptable. See How to Tag for more information.

Is there a deadline to enter and print my tags?

No. You can add items and print new tags at any time prior to the sale.

How do clothing items need to be delivered?

Clothing must be attached securely to hangers. It is important for items to stay in sets and on their hangers. Attach the bar-coded tag on the right side of the item. You may use a tagging gun or safety pin. Do not tape the tag to clothing. See How to Tag for more information.

When and where do I drop off my items?

You will deliver your items to the sale location, Faith Community Church, during your designated drop-off period. Please check Dropping Off for more details.

When do I pick up my unsold items?

Items must be picked up the last day of the sale during designated hours. NO EXCEPTIONS. Any items not claimed will be donated to charity. Please check Picking Up for more details.

If I don’t pick up my unsold items, where do they go?
Any unsold item that is not picked up by during designated hours (see Picking Up for more details), will be donated to our Charity. CLICK HERE to learn more about our charities.

What if one of my items is unaccounted for?

We do not anticipate any problems. However, we will make every effort to prevent theft or loss of tags during the sale. However, Kids-Go-Round cannot be held responsible for anything lost during the sale.

Volunteers, Sponsors & Vendors

What does a Volunteer worker do?

We need volunteers to help us with setting up, assisting customers, passing out flyers, checking in consignors, security, checking out customers and sorting unsold merchandise for pick-up. As a Volunteer, you will earn the right to shop early as part of our Presale. To learn more about becoming a Volunteer and to register for a shift, CLICK HERE.

How do I advertise my company at your sale?
